Terms of Service
Effective October 23, 2026
This is a plain-language policy written to be easy to read.
These are plain-language terms. They're the agreement between you and UpfrontBid when you create an account or use the service.
UpfrontBid is operated by Brian Copland, a sole proprietor, at 106 West 38th Street Unit B, Austin, TX 78705. "We" and "us" mean UpfrontBid. "You" means the contractor or business using UpfrontBid. By creating an account you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
What UpfrontBid does
UpfrontBid reads quotes you forward or add, and sends short follow-up emails to the homeowner in your name on a schedule you control, until they reply, unsubscribe, or you mark the quote won or lost. It also sends you confirmations and a weekly digest.
Your account
You must be at least 18 and using UpfrontBid for a real business. Give accurate information, keep your password private, and let us know if you think someone else got into your account. You're responsible for activity on your account.
Who you can email
Only add quotes you actually sent to a real customer. You're responsible for having a business relationship with every homeowner you follow up with, meaning you gave them a quote they asked for. UpfrontBid is not for cold outreach.
You're also responsible for what your follow-up emails say. Keep them honest and accurate.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Send spam, or use purchased, rented, or scraped email lists.
- Email people who didn't receive a quote from you, or keep emailing someone who asked you to stop.
- Send false, misleading, harassing, or illegal content, or pretend to be someone else.
- Try to get around sending limits, unsubscribes, or security, or interfere with the service.
- Use UpfrontBid in a way that breaks the CAN-SPAM Act or other laws.
Unsubscribes and sending rules
Every follow-up includes an unsubscribe link and our mailing address, and we honor unsubscribes right away across all accounts. Follow-ups are sent between 8 AM and 6 PM Central time, with a daily limit per account. We may pause or close accounts that cause high complaint or bounce rates, or that break these terms.
Subscription, trial, and billing
- UpfrontBid costs $19 a month plus applicable sales tax.
- New accounts get a 14-day free trial. You start it through Stripe checkout, and you're not charged until the trial ends.
- After the trial, your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel.
- You can cancel anytime under Manage billing in Settings. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for, then follow-ups stop.
- Payments, sales tax, and receipts are handled by Stripe Managed Payments, with Link as merchant of record.
- We don't give refunds or credits for partial months, unless the law requires it.
- If we change the price, we'll email you at least 30 days before the new price applies to you.
Your data
Your quotes and business details belong to you. You give us permission to store and process them, including with our service providers and AI processing, only to run UpfrontBid for you. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data.
AI and accuracy
UpfrontBid uses AI to read forwarded quotes. It can make mistakes, so check the details on each quote. We send you a confirmation for every forwarded quote so you can fix anything before follow-ups go out.
Service provided as-is
We work to keep UpfrontBid running well, but it's provided "as is" and "as available." We don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that every email will be delivered, or that you'll win any particular job. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all other warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, UpfrontBid and Brian Copland are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, jobs, or data. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
You agree to cover us for claims that come from the emails you send through UpfrontBid, the quotes you add, or your breaking these terms or the law.
Ending your account
You can cancel your subscription anytime and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other users at risk. If we close an account without cause, we'll refund any prepaid unused time.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the effective date on this page, and for important changes we'll email you before they take effect. If you keep using UpfrontBid after changes take effect, you accept the new terms.
